Pro life

In recent news there has been the debate on whether or not to defund Planned Parenthood.  Pro life advocates seem to be gun-ho on taking away this much needed service because their narrow minds think that the only service they provide are abortions which is not true.  While I don't think that personally I would have an abortion I certainly think that I have the right choose to have one if need be.  This blog isn't to debate this issue but just to share an idea that I have.  This idea is what I like to call the "New Pro Life Movement."  Let me explain where I am coming from with this.  I live in the inner-city or what most would call "the hood."  So needless to say the crime rates are high and especially homicide. Day after day there is a story about someone that was murdered or  an attempt on some one's life.  Now I am not God nor am I a scientist so I cannot argue where life begins, whether or not an embryo or fetus has a soul that would make it a human being, but I do know this, every person that I see or hear about that was murdered had the breath of life in them.  My point is why not take all that energy that goes into demonstrating and rallying at abortion clinics and channel it into make life better for those who we know are living beings.  Can those demonstrators stand on the corner of 27th & Prospect and make demands for a better quality of life? Can they picket the house where dope is being sold?  Can they insist that our children receive a better education?  The list could go on and on about what needs to be address to improve life as we know it.  So will you be a part of the New Pro Life Movement? I am.  Starting today by teaching my child morals and values that will stick with him throughout his life.  I will start today by showing kindness to my neighbors, my co-workers or the man walking pass me on the street.  Its about valuing people, because if you value life you would not take it.
